Plastiques Project

What is Plastiques?

A physical training for performers.

Rooted in the work of Jerzy Grotowski, Plastiques is a training method that utilizes our body’s intelligence to physically communicate and deliver text. Through precision, repetition, and impulse, performers rediscover movement as language—and the body as the first voice.

An Introduction to the Plastiques Method

Before language, before analysis—there is impulse.

This foundational workshop introduces the Plastiques method: a precise, physical vocabulary designed to help performers refine awareness, and connect them with their body’s deepest impulses.

Guided by instructor David Prete, participants will explore isolation, articulation, and the expressive possibilities of the body in motion and the voice that lives within it. No mirrors. No performance. Just breath, movement, and presence.

This is the first in a series of movement-based trainings rooted in the work of Jerzy Grotowski.
